Since it’s basically December and there aren’t any releases coming out that I am highly anticipating, I am going to do my 2018 Anticipated Reads now instead! I’m just going to stick with the first half of the year for now, though, to keep things simple.
Gunslinger Girl, by Lyndsay Ely – Okay so I did just finish this one yesterday, so it’s not so much an anticipated read as it is an OMG ADD THIS TO YOUR TBR NOW read. I loved this book. It took me by surprise. It’s got a little bit of the Wild West, a lot of Las Vegas and politics, and some sideshow/Moulin Rouge vibes thrown in as well. Pity is a great protagonist, the characters are remarkably complex, and it just hooked me in and pulled me along from start to finish.
Unearthed, by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner – This is basically Indiana Jones in space, right? Because I am so here for it. I spent my childhood watching Indiana Jones religiously, and of course I love all things sci-fi and space. So this is definitely one I am going to be making grabby hands for.
